Li-Ion Cylindrical Battery
Description
- A.High energy density
The weight of lithium ion battery is approximately half on comparison with a nickel-cadmium or nickel- metal hydride battery of similar capacity. Moreover, the volume of Li-Ion battery is 40 to 50% smaller than that of a Ni-Cd and 20 to 30% smaller than Ni-MH .
- B.High Voltage
A single lithium ion cell has a high voltage of 3.6V or 3.7V(mean value), which is equal to either three Ni- Cd or Ni-MH cells connected by series.
- C.Pollution-free
The lithium ion battery does not contain any polluting substance such as cadmium, lead mercury..etc.
- D,Non-metal lithium
The lithium ion battery does not employ any lithium metal. There are some transportation rules by IATA.
- E.No Memory Effect
The Li-Ion battery is free from the so-called memory effect, a phenomenon seen in nickel-cadmium in which the apparent battery capacity decreases when shallow charge and discharge cycles are repeated.
- F.Safety and transportation
The Li-Ion batteries have to meet the UL1642 and IEC62133 standard. The transportation need to pass the UN38.3 testing report.
